The California Native Seed Project is dedicated to researching, gathering, and supplying California native seeds sourced locally. Our hand-collected, cleaned, and meticulously packaged seeds are available for gardeners, wholesalers, habitat restoration practitioners, and land managers. We are based in western Sonoma County and specialize in seed grown in our region.

About Us:
Nicole Schlumberger works at the intersection of ecology and horticulture, with a diverse skill set that includes field botany, wildland seed collection, California native plant propagation, and rare plant monitoring. With a focus on assisting clients in the strategic integration of native flora into their landscapes, she is committed to promoting sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. Currently, she is an instructor in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department at Santa Rosa Junior College and a partner at Merlin Arborist Group, a tree care and consulting firm located in Sebastopol, CA.
When not collecting seeds and growing plants, Nicole can be found running on local trails and biking with her daughter. |
Lynnette Bower serves as the nursery propagator and chair for Milo Baker CNPS. In this role, she oversees the growth of local plant stock for CNPS sales. With a deep passion for plants, Lynnette has shared her expertise with various organizations such as the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation, California Flora Nursery, LandPaths, and Point Reyes National Seashore. She volunteers with several non-profits, engaging in activities like vegetation monitoring, trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and propagation.
Outside of her professional commitments, Lynnette is committed to lifelong learning. She holds two associates degrees from SRJC and is currently pursuing studies at Sonoma State University. As the nursery chair of Milo Baker CNPS, she demonstrates her dedication to promoting native flora and encouraging environmental responsibility through community leadership. |
