This purple flowered, small, evergreen shrub grows up to 4' high by 4' wide. Produces breath-taking deep purple and blue flowers with woolly purple sepals over a long bloom period in winter and spring. Sun to part shade, but blooms best in full sun. Needs well-drained soil; Not good for clay soil. Drought tolerant. Needs little water once established. Hummingbird favorite. Deer resistant. Great for bird gardens, hummingbird gardens, butterfly gardens.

Care: Plant in dry, well-drained area. Can be shaped by pinching back stems. Keep any bark mulch away from the stems. Summer water once a month OK.
